How old you have to be to rent a car depends on the country (or state) in which you would like to rent. In some countries, it is 18; in others, 21; and in others, even older. The best way to find the answer to this question is to enter you’ll be when you pick up the car when searching.

Though each supplier has their own policy, you’re likely to be charged a young driver fee if you’re under 25. When you search for a car rental on our website, enter the age that the main driver will be when picking up the car, and we’ll show you only the cars you can rent.
